Activities
Cohort members receive various leadership development assessments and participate in a variety of activities aimed at developing self as a leader and as a team member. Activities include:
A weeklong summer institute with activities on teambuilding, identifying leadership strengths, providing effective feedback, and aspects of coaching and mentoring. Cohorts meet monthly and participants maintain a reflective journal. Participants complete Gallup’s e-learning StrengthsFinder and also complete assigned readings including CaseNEX case studies. Administrative(school-based interns) interns are also required to conduct 3 to 5 site visits to other schools and/or cluster/central-office departments throughout the year. Participants in the Accelerated Certification Cohort (ACC) are required to complete a summer school internship. Intern and ACC participants must complete an instructionally-focused project as well as prepare and follow an individual leadership development plan.
