Strategies for Student Success
The leadership and professional development programs provide real leadership and administrative experiences. These experiences, coupled with the guidance of accomplished leaders, extend aspirants’ knowledge, understanding, and insights of educational leadership.
Initial anecdotal records from LEAD participants reflect that the leadership skills focused in communicating and coaching, action learning, and building on the strengths of leaders at all levels in the school community, is resulting in increased engagement and leadership toward student achievement. LEAD’s ongoing cycle to plan-implement-evaluate-modify strengthens the progress toward continuous improvement in student achievement. Several of our LEAD schools have re-organized roles and teaming structure to maximize efforts toward student learning. Student achievement data reflects improvement.
Continued improved student achievement will result from the continuous district-wide succession planning. Condition strategies at the school level include: further integration of learning communities focused on student achievement; increased student leadership and enrollment in higher level coursework; increased community engagement focused on student learning; development experiences to strengthen the succession of school leaders; and statewide partnerships.
