LEAD Fairfax | Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax, Va.

Populations Targeted

The LEAD staff has focused the resources and program efforts to 82 LEAD-eligible schools containing the largest numbers of economically disadvantaged students within the district. These 82 schools have a combined student population of more than 70,000, which if taken separately, would make this aggregate the third largest school system within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

LEAD participants are selected and placed in groups called cohorts. Cohort participants are identified according to position and school and undergo a sequenced and layered professional development program.

The numbers of schools, instructional leaders and students involved with our program components underscores the need to take our efforts to scale in the most effective, thoughtful, and efficient manner possible.
