Principal Leadership Program for Rural Multicultural Schools Across Northern New Mexico (LeadNM) | University of New Mexico
Strategies for Student Success
As Professional Learning Community participants become more familiar with the components of professional learning communities the group works on and shares strategies for student success. We have committed a great deal of our resources in an attempt to address the overwhelming issue of isolation with these administrators. In theory, if isolation is reduced, principals could reconceptualize leadership and changes in schools could happen. Although LeadNM’s networking component has alleviated some of the isolation and enabled principals to benefit for others’ ideas and experiences, this approach never completely resolved the issues surrounding isolation because these administrators leave their Critical Friends Groups to return to very isolated communities.
