New Leaders for New Schools
Requirements
New Leaders for New Schools employs a highly selective admissions process based on our 10 Selection Criteria – a set of characteristics and competencies demonstrated by highly successful school leaders. The New Leaders program is built on the belief that successful urban school leaders must possess specific attributes, knowledge, and skills to enable all children to achieve at high levels. The Selection Criteria identify key attributes of outstanding school leaders and serve as an evaluation rubric during our intensive recruitment and admissions process. These 10 criteria are designed to ensure that we select applicants with outstanding leadership potential. Applicants must also have a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years of professional experience, including a minimum of two years as a K-12 classroom teacher or possess the equivalent instructional knowledge.
