Activities
The program consists of three strands. In Strand I, prospective principals’ activities center around (1) cohort leadership training sessions, (2) expert presentations where participants are introduced to research-based strategies that impact student achievement, (3) broad-based on-the-job leadership experiences supported by their mentoring principal, and (4) the development of an online leadership resume, that both reflects leadership experiences and serves as a reflective tool for the leadership work that they are doing.
In Strand II, beginning principals’ activities center around (1) cohort leadership training sessions, (2) expert presentations where participants are introduced to research-based strategies that impact student achievement, and (3) personalized year-long mentoring support by a highly successful retired principal.
In Strand III, experienced principals’ activities center around (1) cohort leadership training sessions, (2) expert presentations where participants are introduced to research-based strategies that impact student achievement, and (3) a series of reflective interviews which culminate in a written case study reflecting a year in the life of a principal.
