New School Leadership Program (NSLP) | University of Colorado - Colorado Springs
Leadership Issues and Challenges
1. Principal Induction: How can beginning principals be supported in a manner that accelerates the development of their expertise?
2. Distributive Leadership: How can principals be provided with a thoughtful process for identifying high-performing teachers and a structure to provide these teachers broad-based leadership training and on-the-job experiences leading to two significant results: (a) an increased leadership capacity in their schools that results in increased student achievement, and (b) an increased talent pool of leaders for future principalships?
3. Instructional Leadership: What do experienced principals need to increase their effectiveness, develop new skills, and stay energized in the high accountability environment in which they lead?
