Principals Excellence Program | University of Kentucky and Pike County Public Schools

Timeframe

Leadership development for each of the two PEP cohorts spanned one full calendar year (January-December 2003, January-December 2004). During the spring and fall semesters program participants were released one day each week to participate in program-sponsored activities. On an alternating weekly schedule, PEP participants either met as small inquiry teams with their assigned mentor principals in selected district schools to conduct research about authentic learning issues or met as a large group with their cohort instructors for a full-day seminar-workshop. Cohort members were also required to participate in the three summer institutes sponsored by PEP.
