School Leadership Executive Institute (SLEI) | South Carolina Department of Education
Obstacles
During the development and implementation of SLEI there have been many opportunities and challenges. Like any program funding is always a challenge as is recruiting new participants. Getting principals to commit to a two-year, rigorous program was initially difficult. But, now that SLEI alumni are located across the state as living testimonials to the value of SLEI, recruitment has become much easier. We are internally challenged not to be content with the status quo. While we know our programs are valuable, we must always adjust and modify to meet the changing needs of our participants and education in the 21st century. This continuous quest opens new doors of opportunity daily.
