Program Description
The quality of the questions we ask students impacts their achievement in school! Teachers who plan questions ahead of time are more likely to ask better questions. This online workshop is designed to show teachers how to design questions for different levels of thinking for a concept while preparing these questions in advance of using them with students.

Program Goals and Objectives
By the end of this program, participants will learn how to:
- Review research related to questioning.
- Differentiate between two key types of questions: Content and process.
- Learn how to ask questions for different learning targets and levels of thinking.
- Learn to design and use a questioning model that can be adapted for any subject area and any grade level.
Program Format
During this online workshop, participants add knowledge and ideas to their teaching toolkit in a variety of ways: video, online readings, links to other sites, research connections, and more! The workshop is designed in modules to make it easy for participants to visit and revisit parts of the lesson.Target Audience

This online program, including studying the materials and developing a lesson, takes approximately five hours.Outcomes Measured
This workshop is product based, which means that participants will design a Question Quadrant for a unit or lesson they are teaching. The Question Quadrant will have a balance of all four levels of thinking: recall, relate, connect, and create. You'll use a rubric to help you develop a high-quality quadrant.Program Evaluation
- Participants complete an online or paper survey; results are reported back to the host district.
- Quality of the lessons designed by school staff.
